Which Roads Require a Vignette in Slovakia?
Motorways D1, D2, D3, D4 and expressways R1, R2, R6, R7 (and select other sections) — approximately 435 km total. Full network map at eznamka.sk.
Vehicles: Required for motor vehicles with 4+ wheels up to 3,500 kg. Trailers O1/O2 (up to 3,500 kg) require their own separate e-vignette. Motorcycles, trikes, and vehicles with fewer than 4 wheels are FREE — no e-vignette needed. Vehicles over 3,500 kg use a separate electronic distance toll.
How to Buy the Slovakia Vignette
The easiest way is to buy online before you travel. You can also purchase at petrol stations near the border.
Go to eznamka.sk or use the eZnamka mobile app (available in Slovak, English, and other languages).
Enter your vehicle's licence plate and country of registration (guest purchase — no account required).
Select the duration and pay online. The e-vignette activates immediately — unlike Austria, there is no waiting period.
A confirmation is sent to your email. No physical sticker is required; your plate is checked electronically.
You can also purchase up to 60 days in advance and choose a future start date.

Fines for Driving Without a Vignette in Slovakia
