Which Roads Require a Vignette in Czechia?

All motorways (dálnice, marked D): D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D10, D11, D35, D46, D48, D52, D55, D56, and selected expressways (marked R). The D1 Prague–Brno is the most trafficked route.

Vehicles: Required for motor vehicles with 4+ wheels up to 3,500 kg. Motorcycles, three-wheelers, and trailers are EXEMPT (no separate trailer vignette). Fully electric and hydrogen vehicles must register at edalnice.cz for a free exemption. Vehicles over 3,500 kg use the electronic distance-based toll system.

How to Buy the Czechia Vignette

The easiest way is to buy online before you travel. You can also purchase at petrol stations near the border.

How enforcement works

Police and Customs Administration patrol with ANPR-equipped vehicles. Fixed control gantries on motorways scan every passing plate. Random spot checks at rest areas and at entries. All cross-referenced against the central electronic register at edalnice.cz.
